Kansas City Educator Invited To Speak in England by HRH Prince Charles

Lifelong Kansas City educator Stan Slaughter has been invited by HRH The Prince of Wales to speak on composting at a conference in Gloucestershire this April. The conference is organized April 11-16th by Highgrove Enterprises, the management group for the Prince’s organic demonstration garden and estate.  Proceeds from the conference benefit The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation, a grant-making charity that supports a wide range of projects and causes around the world.

Slaughter, a nationally recognized composting expert, received an invitation personally signed by HRH Prince Charles in early December and speaks April 15, 2016.  Known as the Eco-Troubadour for the past 25 years, Slaughter is a self-employed environmental educator who provides musical composting and recycling programs for children and adults. In that time Slaughter performed in 27 states for more than 400,000 people. To further the impact of his public appearances, he has produced posters, study guides, a card game called Compost Gin and a CD called Rot N’ Roll.

The US Composting Council named him as Outstanding Compost Educator of the Year in 2000.

Slaughter’s web site, stanslaughter.com  Slaughter’s bio is here.

And here’s a short music video about composting he made this fall, Rich Soil, Rich People.

Please help Stan and his wife get to England to represent the U.S.

No compensation is provided for the charitable event. To enable his visit to England, he set-up a Go Fund Me page for donations to cover airfare and travel costs.

HRH Prince Charles purchased Highgrove Estate in 1980. From the first, his purpose was to demonstrate the best in sustainable management. Preserving endangered local species, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, organic gardening and composting are practiced on the estate which receives 30,000 visitors per year.  This year’s conference is the first ever for Highgrove Gardens.
